Starbucks is facing renewed scrutiny, prompting consumers to reconsider where they spend their money. A previous article highlighted Black-owned coffee and tea businesses as alternatives, a list that resonated with conscious consumers seeking value-aligned options.
Today, with this renewed focus on Starbucks, it’s an opportune time to revisit and expand the list of Black-owned cafés. These businesses embody ownership, culture, and the unique neighborhood connections that larger chains often lack.
New York City
NBHD Brulee is located in Harlem. Ginjan Cafe is also in Harlem. The Oma Shop II, a coffee shop, is in Harlem. Brooklyn Tea, a tea room, is in Bed-Stuy. Lips Cafe is in Flatbush.
Los Angeles
