5. Drake – Take Care (21K)

Wait a second, didn’t this album come out in 2011? The staying power of this project is unbelievable. The funny thing is that I don’t even know what’s keeping it alive other than the fact that it’s a good f**king album. This might be the most impressive thing in hip-hop today.

4. Lil Uzi Vert – Maverick “Almost Forever“ EP (22K)

Lil Uzi Vert had a very quiet debut with his latest project Maverick “Almost Forever” EP. Before you use the numbers against him, keep in mind that it randomly came out on a Friday night and only features seven tracks. Right now, “Poured Up” is going crazy, so I can see this project gaining some traction down the line.

3. Future – The Real Me (25K)

Future got his No. 1 debut, but one has to believe that this is a bit of a disappointing release for him thus far. The project quickly dipped in sales after its debut. However, it’s still one of the biggest-selling albums and has had some hits along the way. Personally, I’m still rocking with “California Girls” and “Konnichwa.”

2. Don Toliver – OCTANE (25K)

Though Drake will probably go down as the rapper of the year, you could argue that Don Toliver has had the better year. With no drama backing him, just good music, he was able to deliver an album that featured some megahits like “E85” and “Body.” Rumor has it that Don is prepping to release another album at the end of the year, too.

1. Drake – ICEMAN (48K)

Drake’s ICEMAN continues to outpace the competition. Since debuting in May, there have only been a few weeks where it wasn’t the highest-selling hip-hop album of the week. The dominance has been real, and with numerous stories about him happening every week, I doubt it’s going to fall off anytime soon.
