
Hon. Dr. Jim Chimezie Okolo has been officially confirmed as the West African Regional Director for Inter-Governmental Affairs at the International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS), USA.
This elevation comes after his earlier appointment and induction as the National Director of Peace and Conflict Resolution in the same institution, a ceremony that took place at the National Defence College, Abuja, in December 2025.
His rise from National Director to Regional Director reflects his outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, democratic governance, and humanitarian service across Africa.
Dr. Okolo’s new role places him at the forefront of inter-governmental diplomacy, coordinating efforts among West African nations to strengthen human rights institutions, promote peacebuilding, and foster transparent governance.
The IHRPS, headquartered in Florida, USA, is a global organization dedicated to defending fundamental freedoms and advancing justice, and his appointment signals a renewed era of collaboration in the region.
Beyond this appointment, Dr. Okolo has built an impressive portfolio of international service. He was honored as a United Nations Mayor for World Peace during the 2023 World Peace Day celebrations in Lagos, a symbolic recognition of his contributions to global peace initiatives.
He has also served as National Coordinator of Nouvelle Perspective International, leading election observation missions in Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Togo, Burundi, Germany, France, Italy, and the United States. His recent induction as an Implementing Partner for Global Peace by the Nigerian Air Force Directorate of Peace Support Operations further highlights his ability to bridge civil-military collaboration for sustainable peace.

He is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jimez Petroleum Resources Ltd, a company that plays a significant role in Nigeria’s energy sector. His leadership extends into academia as Chairman of the Governing Council of Bridget University, Mbaise, where he champions academic excellence and leadership training. His grassroots impact has been recognized through his traditional title as Chief of Eleme Kingdom in Rivers State, conferred by HRH John Adimkpa Nkpe.
