Schools from across the country continued to register outstanding performances at the 98th Kenya National Music Festival at Kibabii University, with Nzoia Sugar Primary School and ACK St. Andrew’s Zimmerman School emerging among the standout institutions.
Nzoia Sugar Primary School brought pride to Kanduyi Constituency after clinching Position One in the Taarab category, reaffirming its growing reputation for co-curricular excellence.
The annual festival has attracted learners from all regions of the country, providing a platform for schools to showcase their talents in music, dance and creative performances while celebrating Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.
ACK St. Andrew’s Zimmerman School also recorded an impressive medal haul after excelling in multiple categories. The school secured Position One in Class 2020HB, Class 2031J and Class 2049H, finished second in Class 2034J, and claimed third place in Class 2038H.
The strong showing underscored the institution’s consistency in nurturing artistic talent and maintaining high standards in co-curricular activities.
Meanwhile, learners in the Special Schools Music Festival also delivered exceptional performances, highlighting the festival’s commitment to inclusivity.
St. Martin’s Special School from the Nyanza Region emerged overall winner with 89 per cent, followed by Joy Valley Special School from the Western Region with 88 per cent. St. Lilian Special School finished third with 87 per cent, while Nalondo CBM and Ol Kalou Special School shared fourth position.
