South African Artist CIZA Discusses New Music and Global Recognition

Written by on January 8, 2026

CIZA is rapidly establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Afro-house music scene, achieving both national and international recognition. His success marks a significant moment in his career, moving beyond expectations tied to his family’s legacy.

Early Career and Rise to Prominence

Nkululeko Nciza, known professionally as CIZA, is the son of Nhlanhla Nciza of the acclaimed Afropop group Mafikizolo and music executive TK Nciza. He has distinguished himself through originality, patience, and artistic conviction, rather than relying on his family’s established reputation. His breakout hit, Isaka, propelled him to widespread recognition, dominating playlists, radio charts, and streaming platforms both locally and internationally. The song earned him the Song of the Year award and was recognized as Spotify’s most-streamed song in South Africa.

International Collaboration and Recognition

Isaka’s global appeal was significantly boosted by a collaboration with Nigerian artist Omah Lay. This collaboration, which CIZA describes as a long-held dream, occurred organically when Omah Lay, and subsequently Tems, were drawn to the track. The resulting collaboration elevated Isaka to an international anthem. CIZA has been named Apple Music’s Up Next artist in South Africa.

Upcoming Projects and Future Plans

CIZA’s debut album, CIZA’S PALACE, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of the year. The album promises a bold sonic direction rooted in dance music and Afro-house, featuring collaborations with major global artists. In addition to the album release, CIZA plans to announce international residencies in four countries, marking a significant step in his global expansion.
