The 33rd Annual African Diaspora International Film Festival began this week in Manhattan. The festival features a diverse selection of films exploring the experiences of people of color.

Festival Details

The festival showcases 70 films screening at three locations in Manhattan, including Harlem. Select films are also available for online streaming.

Film Selection

The films presented are independent works originating from New York, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and other regions. The lineup includes both fiction and nonfiction stories.

Festival Mission

According to festival co-founder and co-director Diarah N’Daw-Spech, the festival provides a vital platform for filmmakers who often face challenges in securing distribution. The event aims to foster understanding and connection through shared experiences of people of African descent worldwide.
