The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the reopening of the disciplinary case concerning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal. This action follows an appeal from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Appeal Process Initiated

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation lodged an appeal against the sanctions initially imposed after the match. During the final, Senegalese players briefly left the field following a penalty awarded to Morocco, before resuming play. The match was also marked by attempts by some Senegalese fans to enter the playing area.

Review of the Disciplinary File

CAF’s Appeals Committee has deemed the Moroccan appeal formally acceptable. Consequently, the case will undergo a full review, and a new hearing will be scheduled to include all relevant parties.

Opportunity for Additional Information

The reopened disciplinary process will provide an opportunity for all involved parties to submit additional information, evidence, or arguments to support their respective positions.

Previous Sanctions

An initial decision, issued in January, resulted in sanctions being applied to both Morocco and Senegal.
