Former Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura has maintained that former President Uhuru Kenyatta remains the Mt Kenya region kingpin and has never handed over the leadership mantle.
Speaking during a Jubilee Party delegates meeting at Kiambu Golf Club, Gitura said Uhuru continues to demonstrate leadership through his engagement with the people and his role in national politics.
“Uhuru is the Mt Kenya kingpin, and he has never handed over the kingship,” Gitura said.
Gitura further revealed that the united opposition coalition continues to depend on Uhuru Kenyatta for political guidance and support owing to his experience and influence in national politics.
He praised Uhuru’s 10-year leadership record, maintaining that the country experienced peace and unity during his tenure in office.
The Jubilee Party Elections Director also says the party remains strong and prepared to conduct free and fair internal elections.
“We will ensure free and fair elections within the Jubilee Party,” he said.
Gitura further expressed confidence that the Jubilee Party will win the upcoming Ol Kalou election, noting that the party will support a strong candidate.
He also expressed the party’s support for Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Gitura added that the Mt Kenya region will continue rallying behind Uhuru Kenyatta as Jubilee intensifies its grassroots mobilization efforts.
