Abhinav Bindra, the celebrated Indian shooter, has concluded his eight-year term as vice chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission. The transition occurred during the ongoing Winter Olympics in Italy.
Humphrey Kayange, a Kenyan rugby player, will be taking over Bindra’s position on the commission.

Bindra, India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist from the 2008 Beijing Games, shared his sentiments regarding his time on the commission via ‘X’. These include participating in the evaluation process for candidate Olympic host cities, monitoring the organization of the Games, addressing doping concerns, and developing training and education programs, particularly for women.
