The comedy film “Wild Sing,” featuring Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyun, is set to premiere in theaters on June 3. The film centers on a former dance group attempting a comeback after a two-decade hiatus.
Synopsis
“Wild Sing” follows the story of “Triangle,” a three-member dance group that disbanded following a scandal at the peak of their popularity. Twenty years later, the group reunites to try and regain their former spotlight.
Cast and Characters
Gang Dong-won portrays Hyeon-woo, the group’s leader. Um Tae-goo plays Sang-gu, the rapper, and Park Ji-hyun takes on the role of Do-mi, a core member of the trio. Oh Jung-se appears as Seong-gon, a ballad singer who often found himself overshadowed by the group.
Marketing and Production
A trailer released on Monday provides a glimpse of the group’s debut single, “Love Is,” a 90s-style hip-hop dance track, accompanied by retro camera techniques. Promotional posters showcase a 90s aesthetic, utilizing vivid color schemes, costumes, and font designs. The film is produced by About Film, known for the successful comedy “Extreme Job” (2019), and directed by Son Jae-gon, who previously directed “Secret Zoo” (2020).
