Artist Derin Fletcher opens Akron studio

After earning a degree in industrial design, Derin Fletcher shifted to portrait art and says her new downtown studio is a dream come true.
Though she had studied industrial design with a focus on furniture and fashion accessories, the 2010 Firestone High School graduate said she has found drawing faces more satisfying.
But she hasn't lost the interest that took her to the Savannah College of Art . . .
