Battle, Renner lead Black Horses to Class B win

SCHUYLERVILLE — Connor Battle scored two goals and Alex Renner added another Tuesday to lead Schuylerville to a 3-1 win over Canajoharie-Fort Plain to start the Section II Boys Soccer Tournament.
The win gave Schuylerville a Class B opening-round sweep over C-FP, as the the Black Horses' girls team had also defeated C-FP earlier Tuesday.
The seventh-seeded Schuylerville boys (9-7-1) advance to play at No. 2 seed Greenville (12-2) in the quarterfinals, tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m.
