Black FCA US Technician’s Race Bias Claims Headed to Trial

A Black metallurgical technician who was fired then rehired with a pay cut by automaker FCA US LLC after lodging complaints against his supervisors can bring his race bias and retaliation claims to trial.

Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson,of the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, denied FCA’s motion for summary judgment. Magnus-Stinson said in her decision that the evidence suggests the company’s stated reason for firing Steven Cox—an allegation he was asleep at work—”was a subterfuge for discrimination.”
