Mr Biden’s support among that bloc has fallen significantly in the past year, with the latest The Economist poll showing his disapproval rating among Black voters has risen to 32 per cent, up from 21 per cent in January last year.
The president campaigned hard in South Carolina this time around, for fear of losing the Black vote which constitutes a massive 60 per cent of all Democratic voters in the traditionally Republican state, according to CNN exit polls.
