Kelvin Kiptum Dies In Grisly Road Accident, Mourned By Renowned Leaders

Kenyan athlete Kelvin Kiptum, the current world record holder in men’s marathon, tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday night, February 11th, 2024. He was 24 years old.
Kiptum and his coach died in a collision along the Elgeyo Marakwet-Ravine road in Kenya.
The accident occurred around 11pm on Sunday night.
A third person in the vehicle was injured and taken to the hospital.
Kenyan political leader Raila Odinga and others expressed condolences for the loss.
