Swindell to be inducted into Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame

AUSTIN, Texas — Former Texas women's basketball standout and UT Hall of Honor selection Retha Swindell will be inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Dallas.
Swindell came to UT on a Texas Achievement Academic Scholarship and was the first African-American woman to play UT varsity basketball in 1975.
Swindell is the all-time leading rebounder in UT program history with 1,759 and ranks eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,795 points.
