‘Black people are missing from U.S. history’

Shovels and rakes in hand, volunteers Friday morning tackled what appeared to be an ordinary pile of dirt at Lincoln Cemetery.

Sticks and brush covered a mound of earth near the edge of the historic Black cemetery in Susquehanna Township. Founder of non-profit Saving Our Ancestors Legacy Rachael Keri Williams cautioned volunteers to look for pieces of old headstones and any artifacts amid the debris.
