First black U.S. Marshal to serve for the Southern District of Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — On Jan. 3, 2023, President Biden appointed Michael D. Black to be the next U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio.
His appointment was historic, as he’s the first black man to ever serve in the role.
“It’s a dream come true,” says Marshal Black. “But with being the first comes a lot of responsibility”.
