The budding wine culture and winery business in Kenya’s Rift valley region

The east African region is not commonly known as a wine making region and so it’s a surprise when you stumble into wine brands with a local Eastern African affiliation or origin unlike the South African states where foreign European settlers set up wineries in the colonial times. Over the recent years however, investors have found a nice in the Rift valley region of East Africa spanning Ethiopia and Kenya among other areas. Although lack of local ownership of these firms investing in the wine refineries is questionable, the growing interest in the area of business is commendable.
